Rome churches and basilicas
There are more than 20 churches and 19 basilicas in Rome. Many of the churches hailed from the baroque and neo-classical era, a good number of them were Paleo-Christian and Medieval churches.
Most of the famous basilicas are Patriarchal such as St Peter's Basilica in Vatican, St John in Lateran (San Giovanni in Laterano), Santa Maria Maggiore.
