Rome is the capital city of Italy in the region of Lazio, it is the country's largest and most populated, with more than 2.8 million inhabitants. The currency used is euro which is equivalent to 100 cents per euro. Within Rome lies the smallest nation in the world - State of the Vatican City. Naturaly, the dominant religion of the city is Roman Catholic. Visitors to Rome are required to bring their passports or National Identity Card for citizens of EU countries, Switzerland, Monaco, San Marino. However, no visas are required unless you are staying for more than 90 days. The climate in Rome during the summer(May to September) is hot and dry; winter in Rome is pretty mild but rainy.
